Freeze Warning Update #1: Sunday, 1/19 at 10 a.m.

Forest Oaks Update #1: Sunday, 1/19 @ 10 a.m.

As we expect some bad weather and freezing temps in the coming days, we are going to go ahead and start posting some updates for everyone.

Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club:

All facilities (except the pool) are open normal hours and will remain open until further notice. The clubhouse and fitness center do have a generator, so even in a power outage we will have power.

Warming/Charing Stations:

Should there be an extended power outage in the District, we will make announcements about warming and charging stations in the clubhouse and the maintenance building classroom. Our staff is on standby to open these spaces should we need them.

Forest Oaks Park:

At dark today (Sunday, 1/19), we are going to shut off water to our bathroom and water fountains in the park so we can avoid frozen or burst pipes. We are doing this proactively because if we don't and the pipes freeze or burst, they will be offline longer for repairs. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The bathroom and water fountains will be unavailable until Wednesday, 1/22 and we will turn them back on as soon as we can that day, weather permitting.

The park will remain open unless there is a potential for any hazards with a freeze, in which case we will close the park for assessment and mitigation or clean-up.

Water and Sewer:

MOC, our operator, has been hard at work prepping our plants and lift stations for the potential weather the past four days. They have staff ready to stay onsite should there be a need for it. Meaning MOC staff will be staying at the plants 24/7 to ensure everything is working properly. This is one of the reasons we are thankful MOC is our operator...they do what has to be done!

Should you get frozen or burst pipes, please look for the proper resources on how to deal with those issues. Make sure you know where your home main water valve is located and that it is accessible. Call a plumber for repairs.

If you see a leak on a neighbors house, please notify them ASAP. If you happen to be out and about and see a leak somewhere in the District, please feel free to call MOC and report it. MOC phone number is 281-367-5511. The Forest Oaks Admin Office will be closed on Monday, 1/20 for MLK Day so we will not be here to answer phones calls. You can email us at office@hcwcid110.com.

Trash and Recycling:

Best Trash has already announced that there could be delays or missed pick-ups through Wednesday due to weather, so we will keep everyone posted.

Freeze Updates on District Website:

We have also added a storm updates page to the District website. It is the blue section on the main page. We will continue to post updates in the coming days.
