RATE REDUCTIONNORTH HARRIS COUNTY REGIONAL WATER AUTHORITY

On September 11, 2023, the North Harris County Regional Water Authority (NHCRWA) voted to reduce its rates. The rate adjustment will go into effect October 1, 2023. This will mean that customers of Harris County Water Control and Improvement District 110 (the “Water District”) will see a reduction in the line item on their water bills relating to the NHCRWA fee.

On October 1, 2023, the NHCRWA surface water fee that will appear on your water bill will be $4.31 per 1,000 gallons of water used. This is a reduction from $4.86 per 1,000 gallons set in January 2023.

The NHCRWA is the entity that was created in northwest Harris County to establish and implement a surface water conversion plan for our area. In order to meet the Harris Galveston Coastal Subsidence District’s surface water conversion schedule, the NHCRWA adopted a Ground Water Reduction Plan (“GRP”) which provides for conversion to surface water in phases. The Water District, along with most of the water districts north of FM 1960 from IH-45 to Highway 249, are included in the first phase of the NHCRWA’s surface water conversion plan. The Water District will continue to operate and maintain its water wells as a secondary source of water to provide to water to our customers in those instances where the NHCRWA cannot meet our water demands.

If you have any questions or concerns about the water being furnished to you, please contact the Water District’s Operator, MOC at 832-367-5511.
